What is OASIS?
The Overall Assistance for Start-up Immigration System (OASIS) is a program operated by the Global Start-up Immigration Center designated by the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Small and Medium Venture Businesses.

What is the cost of the OASIS classes?
OASIS is free of charge.

What are the qualifications to participate in OASIS?
OASIS is divided into technology-based and trade-based start-ups. Technoolgy-based start-ups possess items that can be patented, while trade-based start-ups are start-ups that want to sell Korean products overseas. However, this does not apply to restaurants, wholesale, retail, etc., for both visas.

What are the visa preiods?
The start-up preparation visa (D-10-2) can be issued for up to 2 years (6-month periods, 4 times), and the technology start-up visa (D-8-4) is issued while the business is operating for one year every year. The trade visa (D-9-1) is extended for 1 year each year depending on the trade performance.

When can I participate in OASIS?
Foreign start-ups can participate when they are ready for the business by specifying their tech-based business item. For the technology start-up visa (D-8-4), business items should be specific and prototypes should be prepared to some extent. For the trade visa (D-9-1), a specific status for local market research and domestic products for sale should be identified.

How does OASIS support start-ups?
OASIS mainly supports early start-ups and visa support for foreign start-ups, investment in commercialization funds, and networking with VCs according to the readiness of business items, in order to help the start-up succeed.

How can I set up a consultation visit?
If you send us your business item, current business status, current visa, and consultation details by email (OASIS@kipa.org), we will check the contents and send you the location and time of the consultation by email. OASIS does not consult on visas.

For how long is the OASIS certificate valid?
There is no separate expiration date for the OASIS certificate. However, This may change based on future policies.

How can I participate in a customized OASIS program if I want to set up an organization, institution, school, or government entity?
OASIS is a program to support foreign start-ups in Korea. For groups that wish to start a business in Korea, such as an organization, institution, school, or government entity, please send an email to OASIS@kipa.org and we will contact you after reviewing your request. The period, location, and content of OASIS education can be customized based on the outcome of the consultation.
